  • BI 101 - OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY (3 credits)

    An overview of the Old Testament, tracing its teaching with respect to historical background, literary character, and theological influence.

  • BI 102 - NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY (3 credits)

    An overview of the New Testament, tracing its teaching with respect to historical background, literary character, and theological influence.

  • BI 103 - BIBLE STUDY METHODS (3 credits)

    A practical introduction to the principles and tools of biblical interpretation which emphasizes attentive reading of Scripture, trust in its authority, and faithful application of its teachings.

  • CE 104 - PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (2 credits)

    This course trains students in areas necessary for personal development, including emotional intelligence, self-awareness, interpersonal communication, and critical thinking.

  • CE 105/106 - PRACTICAL MINISTRY (3 credits each semester)

    Hands-on ministry experience centered around weekly involvement with the staff and ministries of Silver Birch Ranch, intended to develop a posture of humble service to others (pass/fail).

  • CE 107 - SUMMER MINISTRY INTERNSHIP (3 credits)

    Immersion in the summer camping season of Silver Birch Ranch, with opportunities to integrate classroom knowledge into ministry and relationships, work with teams in specialized areas of service, and take on leadership responsibilities (pass/fail).

  • PE 107 - FIRST AID (1 credit)

    Practical training in First Aid, CPR, and AED with Red Cross certification granted upon successful completion of the course.

  • PH 241 - CHRISTIAN LIFE AND ETHICS (3 credits)

    This course reviews current events, attitudes, and ethics in an attempt to understand and respond to the world in a manner consistent with the example of Jesus Christ.

  • TH 104 - SPIRITUAL FORMATION (2 credits)

    This course studies the biblical and theological foundations for consistent and healthy spiritual development. Special emphasis is placed on developing personal habits of growth for ministry.

  • TH 106 - APOLOGETICS (2 credits)

    An examination of the Christian worldview and various apologetic responses to questions of faith and doubt including the existence of God, evil and suffering, the reliability of the Bible, and the resurrection of Christ.

  • TH 201 - CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY (3 credits)

    An introduction to the basic doctrines of the Christian faith, with attention to their biblical foundations, coherence, and relevance for the Christian life.

  • TH 204 - CHURCH HISTORY (2 credits)

    A survey of the history of Christianity from the first century to the present with a focus on key figures, movements, and theological developments.

  • TH 211 - THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH (3 credits)

    An exploration of evangelism, discipleship, and world missions with special consideration of the part God has for the student in this work.
